The Creation of HSHS Medical Group

In 2008, as part of a bold new Care Integration initiative, Hospital Sisters Health System reached out to physicians and leaders of various medical groups in Wisconsin and Illinois, and asked the question: how can we put all the pieces of the today’s fragmented health care system back together, with patients once again at the center?

Part of the answer was the creation of HSHS Medical Group, designed by physicians to meet the needs of physicians, and ultimately their patients.

About Us

History

Mission Driven Health Care in Illinois and Wisconsin

HSHS Medical Group is a key affiliate of Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS). For HSHS people, our Catholic identity and Franciscan legacy is woven into everything we do.

  • The health care mission of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis is a ministry of the Catholic Church, dedicated to the service of the sick and those in need.
  • Our work is rooted in the spirit and commitment of Francis of Assisi, including care for all, especially those most vulnerable. Being attentive to the whole person is a key component of this.
  • All who share in our mission are committed to serving the health care needs of the local community.
  • We are stewards of the ministry entrusted to us, as well as the resources needed to provide quality health care services to the communities we serve.
