HSHS Medical Group is excited to announce the opening of a new walk-in clinic inside Meijer, 4200 Conestoga Dr, Springfield, IL. The clinic is located at the front of the store next to the pharmacy. Staffed by a nurse practitioner and medical assistant, the clinic offers preventive, diagnosis and medical care, including allergies, congestion, coughs and colds, ear and eye infections, fever, flu, headache, minor burns and cuts, nausea, sinus infection and sports physicals. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 11 am to 9 pm; Saturday 9 am to 7 pm; and Sunday 10 am to 6 pm.

The walk-in clinic will accept appointments, but they are not required. Patients can be seen at the clinic and then walk over to the Meijer pharmacy to pick up their prescription if one is needed. The clinic accepts the same insurance coverage accepted at other HSHS Medical Group offices.

“To fulfill our promise of patient-first care, we are making health care available at convenient hours where patients spend much of their time,” says Vince Noel, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. “The walk-in clinic is open evenings and weekends when many doctor offices are closed. It’s an alternative to visiting the ER for an urgent health need that may not require emergency care, or waiting to see a primary care provider who is fully booked.”

“We specifically chose Meijer based on its location and the fact it’s open 24/7,” says Noel. “Through our partnership with Meijer, we are allowing ourselves the option to potentially expand our hours to be open 24/7 if the market shows the need. This would make our walk-in clinic the only 24/7 walk-in health care facility in our community aside from the local ERs. This walk-in clinic is an important and critical step to our health care delivery model. We look forward to adding this service which makes health care more accessible and convenient by responding to the needs of our communities.”
