HSHS Medical Group’s newest Health Today episode features Kari Jerge, MD, general surgeon at HSHS Medical Group General Surgery in Springfield. Passionate about patient care, Dr. Jerge says, “We are providing patients the very best surgical care in the least invasive way possible. I’m thrilled that we can bring that to Springfield and surrounding communities.”
Kari Jerge, MD earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed a general surgery residency with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship with St. Louis University Hospital. She is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
In her conversation with Health Today host Sonya Jones, Dr. Jerge explains her role as a general and trauma surgeon, emphasizing that health care is a partnership between providers and patients. She enjoys bonding with patients and helping them find the best solution to their health needs.
